The Power of Choice

W hen God created man, He gave him the power to choose. So where you are now is where you chose to be. You can't always choose your circumstances but you can choose your response. The following scripture depict God's heart for us. Deuteronomy 30:19-20, "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: 20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them."

When Daniel was faced with the choice of petitioning God in prayer or not, he chose to pray as always found in Daniel 6:4-5 , "Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God." We must remain faithful to God in all that we do. Daniel 6:10-11, "Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. 11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God." For this he was throw in the lion's den and God kept him from harm. Joshua made the choice for himself and his household in Joshua 24:15, "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Elijah challenged the people to decide between God and Baal in 1 Kings 18:21-22, "And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men." Peter chose to get out of the boat to walk on the water, something no other man besides Jesus had done in Matthew 14:28-29, "And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus."

If you choose Jesus, you will accomplish what no one else has accomplished. Keep in mind that it does not matter what someone else is doing or has done, you listen to the voice of God and obey Him. God gave us power over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt us as children of God . There is power in the name of Jesus, use it for His glory. Don't waste you vote , let Jesus be the Lord of your life.
